赵扬,2003年和2009年于北京大学生命科学学院分别获学士和博士学位。2010年-2013年北京大学生命科学学院博士后,2013年起于北京大学基础医学院任助理研究员,2016年起先后于北京大学未来技术学院和北大临床医学高等研究院任研究员、博士生导师;同时是北大-清华生命科学联合中心、天然药物及仿生药物全国重点实验室、及细胞稳态及衰老性重大疾病北京市研究中心研究员。赵扬目前担任国家重点研发计划“合成生物学”重点专项项目首席科学家;曾入选国家“万人计划”青年拔尖人才和国家自然基金委优青项目;目前担任中国细胞生物学会标准工作委员会委员、中国细胞生物学会细胞与基因治疗分会委员。赵扬在细胞命运重编程及组织器官再生(心脏、肝脏等)领域取得多项突破,以通讯或第一作者在 Science、Cell、Cell Stem Cell、Circulation、Hepatology 等杂志发表论文30余篇,SCI总引用次数达7000余次(Google Scholar),相关成果曾获评“中国科学年度十大进展”、 “中国高校年度十大科技进展”、细胞出版社“中国年度论文”、北京市科学技术奖一等奖等。
Zhao Yang received his Bachelor’s and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Life Sciences at Peking University in 2003 and 2009, respectively. He conducted postdoctoral research at the same school from 2010 to 2013. In 2013, he became an Assistant Researcher at the School of Basic Medical Sciences, Peking University. Since 2016, he has served as a Principal Investigator and Ph.D. Supervisor at the Institute for Future Technologies, Peking University, and the Peking University Clinical Medicine Research Institute of Advanced Medical Sciences. He is also a researcher at the Peking-Tsinghua Center for Life Sciences, the National Key Laboratory of Natural and Biomimetic Drugs, and the Beijing Municipal Research Center for Cellular Homeostasis and Aging-Related Major Diseases.
Dr. Zhao is currently the Chief Scientist of the “Synthetic Biology” key project under the National Key Research and Development Program of China. He has been selected for the National “Ten Thousand Talents Program” as a Young Top Talent and has received the Excellent Young Scientist Award from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He currently serves as a member of the Standards Working Committee of the Chinese Society for Cell Biology and a member of the Cell and Gene Therapy Division of the same society.
Dr. Zhao has made multiple breakthroughs in the fields of cell fate reprogramming and tissue/organ regeneration (e.g., heart, liver). As corresponding or first author, he has published over 30 papers in journals such as Science, Cell, Cell Stem Cell, Circulation, and Hepatology. His total SCI citations exceed 7,000 (Google Scholar). His achievements have been recognized as one of the “Top Ten Scientific Advances in China for the Year,” one of the “Top Ten Scientific and Technological Advances in Chinese Universities for the Year,” a “Cell Press China Paper of the Year,” and a First Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Award.

AI for Cell Fate Engineering and Regenerative Medicine
Talk abstract:
细胞重编程和多能干细胞(PSC)分化技术为药物发现、疾病建模和再生医学提供了前景广阔的解决方案。然而,再生医学的新发展仍然需要更为系统的方法鉴定细胞命运决定因子及其组合,并对细胞命运进行定量精准操控。本次报告将介绍2个方向的研究内容: (1) 通过结合活细胞明场成像的视频流数据与机器学习动态识别并解读多能干细胞分化过程中的细胞状态,实现对人iPSC分化全过程的实时细胞识别和“智能”监控。(2) 基于DRUG-seq2/PHDs-seq等药物扰动转录图谱构建技术,绘制细胞命运扰动图谱,鉴定调控细胞命运转化的小分子化合物。
Cell reprogramming and pluripotent stem cell (PSC) differentiation technologies offer promising solutions for drug discovery, disease modeling, and regenerative medicine. However, new developments in regenerative medicine still require more systematic approaches to identify cell fate determinants and their combinations, as well as to achieve quantitative and precise control over cell fate. This presentation will introduce two research directions: (1) Combining live-cell brightfield imaging video streams with machine learning to dynamically identify and interpret cell states during PSC differentiation, enabling realtime cell recognition and “intelligent” monitoring of the entire human iPSC differentiation process. (2) Using drugperturbation transcriptomic atlas technologies such as DRUGseq2/PHDsseq to construct cell fate perturbation maps and identify smallmolecule compounds that regulate cell fate transitions.
